Ways To Have A Relaxing Weekend

Ways to Have A Relaxing Weekend

When people talk about Las Vegas, it is often referred to as, “The City that Never Sleeps”, “Sin City”, “The Entertainment Capital of the World”, and “The Gambling Capital of the World.” The city with its 40 million annual visitors and 15,000 miles of flashing neon lights, is quite unlike any other city in the U.S and even the world. While the entertainment, gambling and leisure activities in Las Vegas attract people from across the globe, a large number of people actually live here too.

As per commonly reported statistics, the city is home to 2.2 million people (including Clark County, NV). Many of the 632,912 that work in the city of Las Vegas, reside in various surrounding small cities. Thanks to its ample sunshine throughout the year and mild winters, the city attracts people from various demographics including millennials and retirees.

Many entrepreneurs have found it the perfect place to start businesses. In fact, Forbes had ranked Las Vegas as one of the 12 best cities to launch new businesses. Business.org places Las Vegas in the list of top 40 cities in the U.S (2018) for start-ups and entrepreneurs in the United States.

When Stress Takes Its Toll

While all of this is great, it means people that live here lead as busy lives as any other bustling city in the U.S. But leading an overly busy life results in stresses; it can do physical and mental harm. When people are overworked, their bodies simply get out of relaxation mode. Maladies like stress headaches and migraines are common in those with high-stress jobs or people that work odd shifts.

This is very common in Las Vegas because a large majority of locals work in the hospitality industry, at casinos and other similar establishments (most of which operate 24/7). Many people eventually have to consult neurologists in Las Vegas, NV to find solutions to these health problems.

At Radar Medical, the best neurology clinic in Las Vegas we treat numerous patients with stress headaches etc. These are largely a result of the chaotic pace their lives take and their body and mind don’t get the time to relax and rest sufficiently.

Dr. Russell Shah at Radar Medical works very closely with each one of his patients in order to create treatment plans that work for them. In addition to medications and therapies, he always recommends that patients set some time aside for leisure activities and complete relaxation.

Best Ways To Relax On Weekends

The weekends should be used to unwind and rejuvenate the body and mind, so you feel energetic and enthusiastic enough to tackle a new work week. Las Vegas offers innumerable opportunities for relaxation. However, many of these options are available at the hundreds of different hotels and resorts here. People that live in the city rarely ever got to areas like the Strip. That’s just the equivalent of New Yorkers spending their weekend in Times Square.

Sometimes, you just need a tranquil escape from all the commotion & clutter, to recharge your batteries before going back to the daily grind. If you live and work in Las Vegas and want a break from all the chaos, lights, and hustle and bustle, here are some ways to have a completely relaxing weekend.

  1. Food, Art, and Culture

Just beyond the Strip, there are many pleasant suburban communities, with outstanding multi-cuisine restaurants undisturbed by the bustle of the city. If art and culture is your thing, the Smith Center for the Performing Arts offers quiet alternatives to the neon-dotted Strip. You can browse through antiques and historical items at one of the many museums if you like.

  1. Spend Some Time in Nature

For those that prefer to spend time in more natural surroundings, there are a number of national and state parks in the vicinity such as Valley of Fire State Park, Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, and Lake Mead. These tranquil green areas offer plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature and the outdoors.

If you don’t feel up to traveling away from the city yet want a shot of nature, you may enjoy spending time at The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat. Entry to this 15-hectare tropical paradise is free. Simply locate a quiet spot among exotic wildlife, soothing fountains, cascading waterfalls, and find your inner peace. Consider a visit to the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. This place has a gorgeous display of literally thousands of plants and flowers. The fall harvest, as well as the Christmas displays, are outstanding.

  1. Outdoor Activities

For those with an outdoorsy streak, the city offers very easily accessible hiking and biking trails. Many locals opt to drive to Mount Charleston which is 40 miles to the west of the city. This mountain town can easily be 20-30°F cooler than Las Vegas. In fact, you can also snowboard or ski here during wintertime.

  1. Mediate Or Relax At A Spa

If you find the idea of meditating appealing, it can be a great way to relax and let your worries and stresses fade away. This dazzling city offers a number of Zen Meditation activities. If you aren’t averse to visiting the Strip, places like Lightsha Zen, Yoga Sanctuary, Elevated etc. offer excellent meditation, yoga classes, and natural therapies.

Many of these places offer sound healing, reiki, aromatherapy and more, all of which help soothe frayed nerves and a restless mind. As you can see, Las Vegas offers ample opportunities to relax, unwind, and rejuvenate your senses. Find something that suits your requirement and fits into your lifestyle. Use your weekend to calm your mind and relax your body. A de-stressed mind helps improve your productivity levels at work and you will find that you are able to enjoy your personal life better too.
